US/UK Relationship

The US/UK business relationship represents the largest economic partnership between any two countries in the world, including more then $396 billion in two way investment and more than $95 billion annually in two way trade.

The UK is the largest overseas investor in the US and receives more then 40% of the US investment in Europe.

US companies employ about a million people in the UK and UK companies employ about a million people in the US.

The UK and the US respectively provide an outstanding base for onward business development into Europe and the America.

In support of the US/UK business relationship, the BABC has been playing an increasingly active role in promoting a positive environment for further growth in transatlantic trade and investment. It has established an ongoing dialogue and partnership with both the US and UK governments and participated actively in a number of business initiatives, such as: USA Engage, the business coalition formed to support the renewal of "Fast Track" authority for the US President; and the Transatlantic Business Dialogue, the high-level US-European business partnership formed to improve the two-way flow of goods and services. The BABC’s Trade and Investment Policy Committee provides the necessary expertise and channel for this activity.
